Yelena Popova: Townlets

Fuchs was a scientist who worked on the Manhattan Project during the Cold War. He also developed Nuclear Fusion Principle with John von Naumann. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison for passing his work to the Soviet Union and spent 9 years in HM Prison Wakefield before being released.

Yelena is living and working at The Art House throughout May 2018. Her residency will conclude with an exhibition of work created during her time in Wakefield entitled, Townlets. The exhibition will launch in the main gallery during Wakefield’s Artwalk on Wednesday 30 May 2018, 17:00-21:00 and will continue until Friday 13 July 2018.
