BELAY Event: Mastering the Art of Pricing - The Currency of Your Creativity

18.11.2014 to 18.11.2014

Get to grips with the intricacies of pricing your work - a must for any artist who wants to make their creativity pay.

Mir Jansen will talk you through how costing and pricing are linked. You'll also get a chance to learn about "value" and "perceived value", and explore how you can apply this to your own work. Mir will have guidelines and templates for you to work through to help you calculate what you should be charging for your time and your finished work.

Artists' pay is a particularly hot topic following a current campaign led by a-n and supported by the Arts Council and many well knows artists, including Jeremy Deller. If you only attend one BELAY Workshop, make it this one.

About the tutor: Mir Jansen is an artist and professional development advisor.  She worked for 14 years for Yorkshire Artspace in Sheffield as Programme Manager where she founded the Starter Studio Programme for early career creatives and Residency Programme for mid-career artists and where she organised and co-delivered the annual Starting Out business development course for artists and makers.
