Tony Heaton OBE will be Artist in Residence at The Art House between 01 – 29 March 2019

Heaton is a sculptor and performance artist. He graduated from Fine Art at Lancaster University and in 2013 was awarded an OBE for services to the arts and the disability arts movement.

Heaton predominantly works in stone and sculpture, but his practice also includes performance, installation and film. His work deals with the physicality of the human body, the traces and marks it leaves behind and the social context of having a disability.

Recent exhibitions include The Contract, Venice Agendas at Turner Contemporary, Margate (2017), Access all areas, 15th International Architecture Exhibition, Venice (2016), Art Life Activism, Attenborough Arts Centre, Leicester (2016) and Breathe Nothing of Slaughter, commissioned for Channel 4.
