See our current exhibition Altered Landscapes by Spanish artist, Juan delGado. The exhibition combines video, photography, light and sound to trace the journeys of migrants and refugees across Europe. To make Altered Landscapes, delGado travelled to Greece, Macedonia and Calais. Rather than filming or photographing the people he met directly, the artist recorded the places they passed through and the traces they left behind as they travelled to find safety.

Selected to take part in our Some Times residency programme, for his month long stay at The Art House delGado has developed a project working with refugees and asylum seekers through Wakefield City of Sanctuary. In collaboration with Art House studio holder Emily Binks the artist has constructed Living Room, a welcoming space to bring people together from different backgrounds, where experiences and stories can be shared. See Living Room and find out more about future plans for the project at the Artwalk.
