Maeve Rendle
'On Summary In Freedom', 2014

Friday 25 September 2015, 6pm - 7pm

As part of Lit Fest 2015, The Art House presents artist Maeve Rendle's hour-long performance 'On Summary In Freedom'. Nine people simultaneously, but unsynchronized, read aloud passages from Jean-Paul Sartre’s autobiography ‘Words'. A brilliant performance about free thinking, and the giving-way to literal interpretation.

'On Summary in Freedom' was first performed at BLACK, Salford in 2014, and subsequently at the London Art Fair earlier this year.

Maeve Rendle lives and works In Manchester and is represented by The International 3 (http://www.international3.com/artist/maeve-rendle).

Her recent projects include a solo exhibition at BLACK, Salford (2014), Innsbruck International (2013), 'The Way We Do Art Now', Tanya Leighton, Berlin, 'Unframe', Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool (2010), 'Unresolved', Castlefield Gallery, Manchester, 'Radical Obsolescence', Manchester School of Art in collaboration with Ceri Hand Gallery (2009).
