Artist statement

My work is primarily concerned with aspects of landscape and the built environment, with changing moods through the seasons. I am also interested in the relationships of people, fauna and flora in these environments. All my paintings are based on observed experience or the memory of an experience.

Read History at Trinity College, Dublin and studied Fine Art at Sheffield Polytechnic.
1969-70 Postgraduate Scholarship for Painting at Fine Arts Academy, Munich.

Exhibiting member of the Art House, Wakefield. Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Over forty one-person exhibitions, regular participation in national and regional mixed exhibitions. Numerous prizes.
