Hovering between abstraction and figuration, my work is an exploration of the physicality of paint and the possibilities of what can be achieved with space and colour. The basis of my practice stems from my overwhelming attraction to the sensation of oil paint; from the satisfaction in observing the progression of a line from start to finish, to the tactile sensation of applying generous amounts of paint.

Lisa V Robinson will be exhibiting some of her paintings as part of The Working Artist exhibition. Which brings together seven young contemporary artists of all whom engage in different practices and media.
The title, The Working Artist, suggests a dual connotation that refers to the artist physically in the midst of creativity and production. Simultaneously it suggests the practicalities necessary for the artists to support their practices.
The exhibition will run from 17 August to 18 September 2010 at POD 1, Mayday Green, Barnsley Town Centre, S70 1RD
Everyone is welcome to attend the preview night, which will be held on Wednesday 18 August, 7pm - 9pm
